CHRIS - PLAYING WITH THE PIN HOLE CAMERA
THIS SHOT WAS RIGHT INTO THE LIGHT, I LIKED THE SHADOWS ON THE ANGEL A LOT.
I NEEDED MORE LIGHT OR A LONGER EXPOSURE, I'M NOT SURE WHICH TO HAVE MY SOUP TURINE SHOW UP PROPERLY.
I WAS CHECKING OUT THE "DEPTH OF FIELD" WITH THE PIN HOLE CAMERA. THERE DIDN'T SEEM TO BE MUCH DIFFERENCE FROM THE FIRST WIND CHIME TO THE LAST ONE.
I WAS GOING FOR A STILL LIFE BUT DIDN'T QUITE GET THERE
Zane - Off the Beaten Path
Saturday evening was a good time to roam about the roads out in Littlerock; stopped and asked permission to photograph a farm. The fellow had just finished mowing hay and gave me a big smile. The image I wanted to show was bigness - him, the tractor and the smile. The lighting conditions were tough with the blown out bright sky and shade under the trees. He's holding two beers in his hidden left hand. We laughed!

Claire - Pinhole
10 AM: Started the day with Brunch at Budd Bay Cafe. Shutter Speed 1/20; F/3.5; ISO 200
5 PM: Arrived at Fort Lewis and just happen to see this interesting character. Shutter Speed 1/40; F/8 ISO 200
10 PM: Watched the great Fireworks at Fort Lewis. Totally inexperienced taking photos of fireworks, I did quite a bit setting and changing apertures and shutter speeds. I know better for next year. This particular shot: Shutter Speed .13 secs; F/13; ISO 400
Just wanted to have a picture of the reason we have an Independence Day. Taken in less than ideal light, I wanted to highlight the Color Guard with the blured background passing of the State Flags. Shutter Speed 1/13; F/6.3 ISO 400

Shelley- Independence Day
We have a wedding in our yard in a couple of weeks. We worked all day in the yard. At 5:00 we were finishing the trim on the out building with the help of our cat. I was the "go for" and safety officer while Dave had the high job on a 30 foot ladder.
We didn't make if till 10:30!! We watched fireworks in our dreams!

10 am - Family outing to get coffee and pastries.
This flower post bloom reminded me of fireworks. My son is in the background and the sign although blurred is likely recognizable by most people in the NW.
f 6.3, 1/100 sec, ISO 500 (forgot to switch it from last outing), 61 mm
5 pm - Firecracker Pride
Reid was allowed to light his first firecrackers and man, did he feel like the big kid in the backyard. For me, this image really captures that proud moment through the expression on his face, his posture, the lighter in hand and a slight haze of smoke still lingering in the background.
f 5.6, 1/100 sec, ISO 100, 64 mm
10 pm - Fireworks
Tried to get some foreground trees, etc in this shot to give some perspective.
f 11, 4 sec on tripod, ISO 100, 17 mm
Another fun assignment Barb!
Jessica Simon "My Independence Day"
Started the day sleeping in, so my 10am shot was a bit later. My first photo is my husband and I walking two of our four dogs...figured it would be tough to take photos while walking all of them!
My 5:00pm shot was again outside hanging with my crazy dogs who were harassing one of my cats, the dog running knows to run when the cat has had enough.
10:30pm we were shooting off fireworks at home and I was experimenting with shutter speeds.

The 10 am shot is of the squirrel in the cherry tree. It's a two-fer for the squirrel -- he can eat cherries and torture the dog!
Shot #2 is the tile saw - nothing too interesting here - 5 pm and trying to finish the floor.
The final shot is not fireworks - it is a shot of the colored solar light -- handheld. I thought it was interesting that the shutter was open so long that it caught all three colors.
4th of July - James Steberg
Dave - 4th of July
The first shot I took using a tripod. I set the timer then got into the hammock and started swinging to get a blurred hammock look.
The second was a family game of crocket, I was going for a good shadow shot.
The third was a shot across the bay looking at Boston Harbor. I also like the look I got from the neighbors playing with sparklers and tossing them into the water. It was dark so I used F2.8 at 30 seconds.
